Bangalore: The Bangalore Urban third additional district consumer disputes redressal forum directed a passenger to pay a cost of Rs 6,000 to Kingfisher Airlines for filing a frivolous complaint against the airlines.
While dismissing the application of Arvind Toshniwal and his wife Usha Toshniwal, the consumer court held that the passenger had filed the frivolous complaint just to harass the airline and there was no deficiency of service on part of the airline to the complainant passenger.
According to the complainant, he had booked a ticket with Kingfisher Airlines to travel from Bangalore to Nagpur. The date of journey was December 19, 2009, and a return ticket was also booked for December 22, 2009.
Due to technical problems in the aircraft, the flight was cancelled and the complainant was informed about it prior to his journey. The airlines also refunded him the money.
