Nagpur: The Nagpur bench of Bombay High Court on Wednesday was informed that a team from Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) will inspect the Nagpur airport from September 7 to 9 to decide whether licence could be issued to Mihan India Private Limited ( MIPL) which is operating it at present.
The DGCA intimated their decision via email and it was informed to the court by assistant solicitor general SK Mishra. After this, a division bench comprising justices Sharad Bobde and Mrudula Bhatkar adjourned the hearing on PIL filed by VED till September 22. The petitioner charged union aviation ministry of "deliberately" delaying the process of airport transfer without which the mega project of MIHAN will never become a reality. The DGCA said it would depute deputy director of operations, in office of Director of Airworthiness ( DAW) Mumbai, T Mohan Chandran, and aerodrome inspector at its Delhi-based headquarters KH Verma to inspect the Nagpur airport.
