Mangalore: The transcripts of the Cockpit Voice Recorder (CVR) of the ill-fated IX 812 which crashed at Mangalore on May 22 have clearly shown that the plane touched down almost at the end of the runway due to which the plane fell short of the runway and finally crashed killing 158 people, said the Court of Inquiry headed by Air Marshal Bhushan Nilkanth Gokhale, which released the transcripts of CVR and DFDR in Delhi. The CVR transcript showed that the plane was incorrectly aligned to the runway while attempting to land. It also disclosed that the crew, possibly the co pilot, found the runway was short and warned the Captain.
It may be remembered that the transcript of the conversation between the ATC and Cockpit disclosed in Mangalore on August 18 had clearly shown that the co pilot had said "Go around Captain".
On Wednesday when the crucial Cockpit Voice Recorder (CVR) was released it showed that a voice in the cockpit said “We don't have enough runway left” minutes before the crash.
According to sources the plane touched down almost at the end of the paved surface (runway) and hence there was no land available which finally lead to the crash.
