Ahmedabad: The new terminal of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport will become operational from Tuesday. Spread over an area of 40,000 square metres, the airport will handle about a dozen international flights daily.
Constructed at a cost of Rs 300 crore, the new terminal was inaugurated by Union Civil Aviation Minister Praful Patel on July 4, but it could not be made operational because many things, like installation of software among others, were yet to be completed.
Airport director Anuj Agrawal said the new terminal was constructed because the old one could hardly handle two flights.
