4,000 athletes take flight back home

New Delhi: It's time for the international athletes to bid adieu to the Commonwealth Games Village. “Nearly 4,000 athletes took their flights back home on Friday and almost all of them will leave by Sunday,” said a senior official of the Games Organising Committee who didn't wish to be identified. The athletes also shopped at the airport duty free outlets.
Sources said Customs officials have been asked not to take leaves till October 20 and also work in three shifts.
Air India is providing special chartered flights for the Australian delegation, the first of which departed on Friday.
