Airline apologises for featuring bullfights in international mag

Jet Airways and their in-flight magazine JetWings have apologised to animal lovers for publishing an article on bullfighting in their September issue.
The Federation of Indian Animal Protection Organisations (FIAPO) wrote to Jet Airways and JetWings expressing their objection to the representation of this sport in the magazine.
Sowmya Reddy from FIAPO said, “After being inundated by calls and emails to tell Jet Airways to stop promoting the slaughter of bulls, we wrote to the company.
In Spain itself, Canary islands outlawed bull fighting since 1991, followed by Barcelona and Catalonia. Bull fighting has been decried by industrialists, intellectuals, working people and animal protectors throughout Spain, across the EU and around the world.”
Manech Davar, executive publisher and editorial board member of Spenta Multimedia (JetWings magazine), in his reply to FIAPO, said, “Thank you for your valuable feedback. We do understand the points raised by you and would not want to come across as an organisation and publication that encourages unjust endeavours. We assure you that there wouldn’t be any more features on the same in JetWings.”
