IndiGo to buy 150 planes

Kolkata: IndiGo Airlines plans to buy 150 new planes worth over $10 billion to cater to its growth projections in the domestic and international sectors over the next couple of decades.
Speaking to TOI, IndiGo president Aditya Ghosh said the carrier had already received the civil aviation ministry’s nod to expand beyond 100 aircraft fleet size that it is pegged to reach by mid-2015 .
IndiGo had emerged as one of the biggest buyers at the Paris Air Show in 2005 (nearly a year before it actually took to the skies) when it booked 100 Airbus A320 aircraft worth $6 billion. Till now, it has taken delivery of 28 aircraft and will receive 20 more planes by end of 2011. The remaining 52 aircraft will be delivered by mid-2015 .
