Mumbai: The Mumbai police have, yet again, upped security, after a fresh alert sounded by the New Delhi police that Islamic fundamentalists could target airlines and vital buildings during the ongoing Navratri festival.
The Mumbai police have been on high alert for the past 24 hours.
Sources said the threat during Navratri is significant as several terror groups are seeking to avenge the 2003 Godhra carnage. Prominent among these groups is the Pakistan-backed Lashkar-e-Toiba.
Sources said there was a terror threat to Jet Airways, in the wake of which security in and around the city's airport has been beefed up.
A Jet airways spokesperson denied knowledge of this.
