Patna: About 20 passengers on board Air India IC 407 Delhi to Patna flight on Sunday were in for an unexpected trouble at Jai Prakash Narayan International Airport (JPNIA) as they found their luggage missing when the flight landed here at 1: 55 pm.
Air India (AI) officials at JPNIA airport, who were stormed with questions, tried to calm the passengers down, but as they failed to give satisfactory answers to the passengers' questions, it was bedlam at the airport.
Angry passengers shouted slogans against the national air carrier. Asking how their luggage had gone missing, they accused AI officials of complete mismanagement.
The angry passengers calmed down only after AI officials formally registered names of passengers whose luggage were probably left at the Delhi airport.
A senior AI official said: "We have forwarded names of the passengers concerned to our Delhi counterparts and they are in search of the missing luggage."
"The missing luggage will be flown to Patna as soon as they are searched. We will inform the passengers concerned and they will be asked to collect the luggage from our office here," a senior AI official said.
It is a coincidence that the luggage of passengers, who had arrived at Delhi airport from Saudi Arabia or Dubai and boarded for Patna, have been accidentally left at Delhi airport, a source said.
