Cops foil footy crazy teen’s Singapore trip

Mumbai: The 13-year-old son of an Air India pilot left home with his passport and his father’s credit card, booked a ticket to Singapore from a travel agency, and after getting his boarding card at the airport, was all set to fly out. However, his plans were foiled minutes before departure by the police.
Through the 10-hour search drama that ended in early hours of Monday, the boy’s parents and police were convinced he was kidnapped.
Luckily for the cops, the boy’s mobile phone was switched on.Mobile phone tracker showed the device was around international airport. Following the signals and armed with the boy’s pictures, police teams began searching the area and the airport premises.
The boy had already collected his boarding pass and was headed towards immigration check when cops spotted him. His parents were alerted, and watching the police party, the boy too panicked. He told cops about his desperation to make it to the November 10 football tournament in Singapore.
