Delays may ground AI’s T3 plan

New Delhi: There is a huge question mark over the shifting of Air India's domestic operations to the new terminal, T3, on November 11.
On Monday, airline CMD Arvind Jadhav witnessed the fury of harried passengers, who had spent almost the entire day at the airport. With several flights delayed by 6-12 hours yet again, senior officials of the civil aviation ministry and the airline were present at T3 in the evening when passengers demanded refund for their ticket money.
With operations of the three major domestic airlines scheduled to move into T3 on November 14, Air India has little time to sort out its mess. The management is expected to take a call on its future course of action on Monday night and convey its position to the ministry by Tuesday which will then take the final decision. The airline has moved 11 of its flights to T3 on November 1 and wanted to move its entire operations by the November 7. However, as the airline started reeling under massive delays, the shifting was postponed to November 11.
