Chennai: Has the country’s national carrier been privatised? Yes, going by the stamp in an internal office order, which has the signatures of two top honchos of Air India.
Express stumbled on the ‘office order’ dated November 25 on Star Alliance training requirements that the Air India staff need to fulfil — and found that Capt Engg Gustav Baldauf, the Chief Operating Officer, and Capt Stephan Sukumar, Chief of Training, have signed above their titles stamped at the bottom. The rubber stamp, without any ambiguity, says ‘Air India Pvt Ltd’.
When asked if the airline has been privatised, an insider said: “It is total negligence on the part of top bosses who have signed in the document without reading it.”
