New Delhi: Air India has been facing teething trouble at Delhi Airport's new Terminal 3 (T3). CNN-IBN learns mismanagement and short staff are the main reasons behind the current Air India crisis.
Taking flights from Delhi's T3 has become a harrowing experience for hundreds of Air India passengers for the past few days.
The airline entered into a ground handling pact with Singapore Airport Terminal Services (SATS) and a joint venture was formed for ground handling at several metro airports. But Air India sources say SATS has failed and it does not even have the staff. An already bleeding Air India had to fly in over 100 employees from across the country and put them up in hotels to support the move to T3.
Sadly none of these people were trained to handle the newer systems installed at the airport.
Now the airline and gone ahead and spent more money hiring ground handling services of Cambata Aviation and the Bird group.
