The special cell of Delhi Police arrested a former Amritsar airport employee on Wednesday with heroin worth Rs 8 crore.
The accused, 23-year-old Sanjeev Kumar, told the police that he 'collected' his supplies of drugs from the Indo-Pak border and supplied them to his African handlers, who sent it either to southeast Asia or to the western markets.
According to sources, Kumar had been involved in the trade ever since he came out of jail in 2008 after being arrested by the Punjab Police in a murder case. The cops have recovered around 4kg heroin from the accused.
