Mumbai: A passenger was arrested at the Mumbai airport late on Wednesday for evading duty on electronic items and saffron, customs officials said. Baliya Nizar Mohammad was returning from Dubai on flight AI 713, when the Air Intelligence Unit found undeclared items in his luggage. Mohammad was travelling with 5 kg saffron and electronic goods like memory chips and iPods. “The goods have been valued at around Rs 25 lakh,” a senior Customs official said.
A passenger can only bring in Rs 25,000 worth of goods without duty.
