Mandakalli airport gets busy

Mysore: "All flights of Kingfisher Airlines to and from the city were fully booked during Dasara. Even I could not get a seat," said Rajiv Kumar Gupta of Airports Authority of India, who is in charge of Mandakalli airport.
Speaking to SOM, Gupta said Kingfisher had an above average passenger occupancy rate. "I do not think this will go down. In fact, I expect it to rise."
Kingfisher Airlines Station Manager Preeti Nayak, speaking to SOM this morning, said: "Passenger occupancy has been between 36 and 46 with more on holidays. The planes that are flown are ATR 66 and 72 — one is 66-seater and the other, 72-seater."
According to Preeti Nayak, flights between Bangalore and Mysore will continue to be operated using the ATR family of aircraft but the service offered will be the Kingfisher Red service.
The Kingfisher Airlines' flight IT-2404 departs from Bangalore at 12 noon and arrives in Mysore at 12.45 pm. From Mysore, flight IT-2407 departs at 2.20 pm and arrives in Bangalore at 3.10 pm.
