GMR Infrastructure sees Hyderabad airport breakeven this fiscal

Hyderabad: GMR Hyderabad International Airport Ltd (GHIAL), the subsidiary of GMR Infrastructure that operates the international airport at Hyderabad, is expected to achieve breakeven this fiscal.
Buoyed by the increasing revenues through the user development fee and the rise in traffic and cargo, the company is expecting to better its financial performance.
“With new initiatives and increased UDF we hope to break even perhaps this year itself. There is a fair chance. We cannot comment right now on numbers. We are confident that unlike last two years when we were making losses, we will be able to break even this year,” P Sripathy, GHIAL’s CEO, said.
According to him, the airport is likely to witness 16% growth in passenger traffic and around 26% growth in cargo this fiscal.
“If everything helps, we will be hitting around 7.5 million passengers this year while last year it was around 6.2 million,” he said.
