Live bullets in Sunny’s kit

Mumbai: Ageing action hero Sunny Deol’s make-up man, Hemant Jadhav, was detained at the Mumbai airport late on Tuesday night, just a couple of hours before a flight to New York, for carrying seven live cartridges in a bag he was going to deliver to the actor.
The make-up artist told CISF that Sunny was shooting a T-Series film with Kangana Ranaut in New York and had asked him to join him with a bag he had left behind in Mumbai. Jadhav said he had no idea about the bag’s contents.
When this report was filed, Jadhav had been detained by Sahar police for questioning. Sunny Deol’s father Dharmendra rushed to the airport to help Jadhav and explain why Sunny’s bag had bullets, sources said.
According to sources at the airport, Jadhav was scheduled to take Air India’s flight 101 from Mumbai at 8.45 pm on Tuesday. His bag was being scanned – while policemen frisked him – and the X-Ray screen showed it contained bullets. The airport security immediately informed Sahar police.
A police officer said, “... Though the Deols do have a licensed pistol, we need to make sure these bullets belong to the same pistol. If the need arises, Sunny Deol will be questioned too.”
