New Delhi: For those workaholics missing the daily humdrum of office life while on long-haul flights, this will come as a welcome news. Various airlines are looking at offering Internet services so that the time spent on flights is not wasted.
Early this week, German airline Lufthansa relaunched its broadband Internet that allows a flyer to browse the Net and conduct Skype, stream YouTube, while flying.
Singapore Airlines too is planning to offer the service from next year. And from early 2012, Hong Kong-based Cathay Pacific will also allow its passengers the option of staying connected on a real-time basis, 30,000 feet above the ground.
According to Mr Frank Puettmann, Head, Corporate Communications, Asia-Pacific, Lufthansa, at present, the Lufthansa Flynet service is available only on flights between Germany and North America. This is largely due to the location of the satellite.
