Surat: Passengers once again faced difficulties when the arrival and departure time of the only flight to Delhi from the city was changed on Sunday afternoon. The flight arrived and left almost two hours earlier than its regular time due to which a few passengers missed their flight. They were annoyed as no alternative arrangements were made by the authorities concerned.
The Indian Airlines (IA) flight to Delhi arrived in the city at 1.25 pm and left at 1.55 pm. The flight's regular time is 3.40 pm arrival and 4.10 pm departure. Passengers of Sunday's flight were informed in advance, said IA officials. Over five passengers had missed their flight but IA authorities maintained the number was only four.
Hitesh Colcuttawala, programme delivery manager with SAP India, informed TOI, "I was supposed to attend an important meeting in Delhi but due to change in time I missed the flight. I did not receive any message from IA. My ticket was booked by my company and as my travel desk does not work on Saturday or Sunday, the message did not reach me."
Colcuttawala was annoyed as no alternative arrangement for the travellers was made. "I was given two options that either I accept the refund or board the flight on Monday. They could have taken the passengers to Vadodara from where there is an evening flight to Delhi," he said.
IA officials at Surat office were not aware about the exact reason behind the change in flight schedule.
