Soon in Gujarat: 9 new flights, 10% lower fares

Ahmedabad: Soon you may get air connectivity from Ahmedabad to Surat. And also pay 10% less on the airfares on all Gujarat-bound flights.
While talks are on with Kingfisher and Jet Airways to give a stopover of their Ahmedabad-Mumbai and Mumbai-Ahmedabad flights at Surat before the Vibrant Gujarat Summit 2011 takes off, air passengers in the state will benefit by 10% on the fares once a new civil aviation policy is announced soon.
Apart from that, Delhi-based Ventura Airconnect is planning small-size flights from Ahmedabad to seven other cities in the state. The company plans seven flights from Ahmedabad to Bhuj, Rajkot, Jamnagar, Porbandar, Vadodara, Bhavnagar and Surat.
Train journey from Ahmedabad to Surat takes more than four hours while in a flight it will take less than half an hour. But the person choosing air travel will have to pay as much as Rs5,000 on Ahmedabad-Surat route.
