Mysore: A little more than 3,000 passengers have flown Kingfisher Airlines since it was inaugurated in October last year.
Kingfisher is doing well with an above average traffic of more than 80 per cent of the passengers every day, said Preeti Nayak, Station Manager, Kingfisher Airlines, at Mandakalli Airport in city.
The Kingfisher Airlines Station Manager said the lack of a public transport facility from the city to the airport was a handicap.
"Most passengers like to spend a few hours in the city and a good public transport service would help them. The poor condition of the road from the city to Mandakalli is also a problem as many cab drivers do not come here unless we call them in to pick up the passengers," she said.
When contacted, KSRTC Divisional Controller Srinivas said "We have no problems at all about arranging for a special regular trip at the time of arrival and departure. But we are not allowed beyond the main gate by the airport Police. ...."
