70 casual workers of Centaur Hotel in Srinagar to be regularised

New Delhi: In a New Year gift, 70 casual workers of Centaur Hotel in Srinagar will be regularised before its management is handed over by Air India to a consortium led by Jammu and Kashmir government.
The decision came after senior CPI(M) leader Sitaram Yechury had a detailed discussion with Civil Aviation Minister Praful Patel today.
The hotel belongs to the Hotel Corporation of India which is a subsidiary of Air India.
These casual workers were working in that hotel for past over 15 years, Yechury, the Chairman of Parliamentary Standing Committee on Transport, Tourism and Culture, said.
In a related developed, he said that leaders of Air Corporation Employees Union, who were dismissed immediately after a three day national strike after May 22 Mangalore air crash, will be taken back within a specified timeframe.
The two leaders also agreed that elections should be held in this as well as other unions to check any tendency of union rivalry.
