Bombay high court dismisses pilot's plea seeking quashing of FIR for rape

Mumbai: The Bombay high court today dismissed a petition filed by Jet Airways Co-pilot Varun Agrawal seeking quashing of FIR lodged by an air hostess alleging that he raped and assaulted her.
Agrawal contended that the complainant had levelled serious charges against him to put pressure on him to marry her after his parents had disapproved of the alliance.
Mahesh Vaswani, lawyer for the air-hostess, denied that the FIR was false and said she had been assaulted and raped several times in the past by Agrawal who had induced her to have physical relationship on the pretext of marrying her.
Agrawal turned violent many times and had threatened to throw acid on her face, the girl said in her written reply.
