Jet Airways slashes rates on select routes

Mumbai: Jet Airways, the country’s largest airline has announced a limited period discount of Rs 250 to Rs 550 per ticket on the fare for key routes connecting Mumbai, Delhi, Bangalore and Chennai among others.
The company claims the move would help in cashing in on the rising air traffic in the country.
“These all-inclusive fares are available for sale with immediate effect till the end of this month. These are valid for travel till April 30, 2011,” the airline said in a statement on Monday.
During the fourth quarter of 2010, out of the total 52.13 lakh passengers carried by all the airlines, Jet Airways group carried 38.13 lakh passengers with seat factor of over 82 per cent, according to DGCA data. The airline had 26 per cent market share in the domestic airline industry during the quarter gone by, the Directorate General of Civil Aviation data said.
For the busiest sector like Mumbai-Delhi, the company has lowered fares by Rs 500 to Rs 3,682 per ticket excluding user development fee (UDF), for Jet Airways and by Rs 450 each on JetLite and Jet Konnect, respectively. For sector such as Delhi-Bangalore, the fares have been lowered by Rs 550 per ticket to Rs 4,182, excluding UDF for Jet Airways.
