New Delhi: Air India’s Flight 746 from Dubai to Delhi was cancelled today because the cabin crew smelt a rat.
A Dubai rat had boarded the plane. The crew spotted the intruder and chased it, but it gave them the slip.
The captain of the aircraft then decided to ground the flight till the rat was caught.
“You can’t fly with a rat inside an aircraft as it can jolly well cut wires crucial to an aircraft’s operations,” an airline spokesperson said.
The flight was cancelled and the 150-odd passengers asked to wait in Dubai.
Air India officials said the rat probably got in when the plane was being checked by technicians.
