Srinagar: The state congress chief, Professor Saifuddin Soz on Wednesday took up the matter of proper calibration of Instrumental Landing System (ILS) at Srinagar Airport with the Director General, Airport Authority of India.
A party spokesman quoting Soz in a statement here said that the state party chief urged the Airport Authority of India to install the system not on experimental basis but on permanently so that the flights can land in low visibility also. The regular calibration of ILS will also ensure landing of evening flights.
Though the ILS had been installed at the Srinagar airport two years back, there has been hesitancy to calibrate the system and make it functional.
