New Delhi: Indian domestic airlines passenger traffic for January grew by 20.7 percent and stood at 49.36 lakh passengers as compared to 40.88 lakh passengers in January 2010, said a civil aviation ministry official Monday.
'Passengers carried by domestic airlines during January 2011 were 49.36 lakh as against 40.88 lakh during the corresponding period of previous year thereby registering a growth of 20.7 percent,' said a ministry statement on monthly passenger traffic movement.
Meanwhile, the industry's total passenger traffic reported a marginal decline of 5.31 percent in January as against the passenger traffic of 52.13 lakh in December 2010.
