New Delhi: Civil Aviation Minister Vayalar Ravi has called for an investigation into the fake pilot licence scam. Two pilots - Air India's JK Verma and Praminder Kaur Gulati of IndiGo - have already been arrested for allegedly procuring their licence on forged documents.
"My direction given to DGCA is to see into the fake institutions and fake certificates. The person who tries to give fake certificates is playing with human lives. It's a very dangerous game. I hope all private airlines and Air India make a duty to look into certificates when they are produced," said Ravi.
Sources have told CNN-IBN that there are 50 more cases being scrutinised thoroughly and the he Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) is looking at an insider involvement in the fake pilot licence scam.
Touts are being identified and pursued by the DGCA while the role of some flying schools is also being investigated.
