Travellers happy with new parking rates at airport

Nagpur: Kailash Jogani, a frequent flyer, on Friday filed a complaint with airport authorities of Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar International Airport that the new parking stand contractor demanded Rs 30 for just dropping a friend at airport. However, on Sunday morning Jogani got a surprise. When he went to the airport, the parking contractor asked him to show the receipt mentioning the duration of entry and exit (10 minutes duration) and allowed him to go without any charge.

Jogani's is not an isolated case. Many visitors and frequent flyers had been complaining about Mihan India Private Limited's (MIPL) new system of charging Rs 30 for drop and go facility. But this situation arose due to some misunderstanding and lack of awareness on the part of the travellers and visitors about time limit.

Just after a week, everyone's appreciating the new system after the travellers were made aware that no charges will be levied from people who pick or drop passengers and leave the airport premises in 10 minutes. TOI correspondent who visited the airport on Sunday, found parking staffer handing over receipts for proper parking and drop and pick facility.
