Air India crisis: ESMA not ruled out?

As the strike by Air India pilots entered the third day today, sources told TIMES NOW that the management of the national carrier gave 5 pm as the deadline to all the pilots to call off their strike. According to sources, the management has also warned the pilots that if they did not comply with the ultimatum, then Essential Service Maintenance Act (ESMA) could be invoked against them.
Around 800 pilots, of erstwhile Indian Airlines, associated with Indian Commercial Pilots Association (ICPA) are on strike since Tuesday midnight demanding fixed salary, removal of AI CMD and CBI probe into alleged mismanagement.
Meanwhile, in a setback to the pilots the Delhi High Court today refused to stay Air India management order derecognising Indian Commercial Pilots Association (ICPA).
The national carrier today drastically reduced its operation to 50 flights across its network against the regular 320 as all executive pilots joined the stir.
