Officials at Jayaprakash Narayan International Airport in the Indian city of Patna are planning to install professional CCTV systems in the terminal buildings.
According to the Times of India, a total of 42 cameras will watch over arrival and departure lounges, as well as car parks within the airport grounds.
Footage from the devices will be sent to a central control room for monitoring.
"Our prime concern is safety and security of air travellers," airport director Arvind Dubey told the newspaper.
The new CCTV systems will form part of a wider security strategy at the hub, with a kennel for sniffer dogs also being planned on the site.
