Nedumbassery: The Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha, Sushma Swaraj, had to cancel her plan to travel by a helicopter to Palakkad from the Cochin airport here on Saturday, on account of VIP movement.
Official sources said a helicopter that took off from the Thiruvanathapuram airport by 11 a.m. to Kochi returned to the tarmac after the Airport Authority of India asked the pilot to fly at a higher altitude. But the pilot refused to do so citing technical reasons. “The pilot was asked to keep an altitude of 5000 feet, but he chose not to fly since it was not a high-altitude helicopter,” an official said.
