Ahmedabad: Passengers on board SpiceJet 913 flight had a tormenting experience on Monday. The Ahmedabad-Hyderabad-Chennai flight which was to take off from Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International airport at 3.30 pm was cancelled due to a technical snag with the navigation system of the plane.
What irked the 132 passengers was that the passengers were made to sit for close to 90 minutes in the plane before they were told that the plane can't take off due to a technical hitch.
"We were taken on the plane 30 minutes before the departure time. At around 3.30 we were informed that there is some problem which engineers are working to sort out. But even after an hour there were no signs of the plane taking off," said a passenger, flying to Chennai.
The fliers were taken back to the terminal and told that a plane has been called from Delhi for them. Sources with SpiceJet said that the plane from Delhi had come around 4.30 pm but no passengers from the cancelled flight were accommodated and plane went towards Goa.
The domestic departure terminal had many passengers shouting at airline officials and a few even threatened to beat them up if they don't get a proper answer. The passengers were then informed that those travelling to Hyderabad would be accommodated in an Indigo flight which left Ahmedabad at 6.30 pm.
