AI to help Mangalore crash victims' kin get jobs

Mangalore: Air India, which has already provided jobs to the kin of two air crash victims at its Mangalore airport base, is now offering financial assistance to unskilled applicants to set up travel agencies.
At least eight applications from family members of the victims have already been forwarded to the Mumbai office of Air India from Mangalore. Air India offers jobs to kin of victims, only if the applicants are highly skilled.
Air India Express chief operating officer S Chandrakumar, interacting with reporters on the sidelines of the first anniversary of the IX812 crash at ground zero at Kenjar here on Sunday, said the skill and eligibility of a person is very important when it comes to appointment in the organization.
