Surat: The Facebook (FB) group 'We Want Working Airport at Surat' (WWWAS) has decided to render its support to the Deccan Charters Limited (DCL), whose air connectivity of Gujarat towns with Ahmedabad and Surat as twin hubs has run into rough weathers due to technical problems created by the Director General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) and other private airline companies facing similar hurdles.
The decision was taken at the first core committee meeting of WWWAS organised at Mahida Bhavan in the city on Sunday to chalk out plan of action for getting air-connectivity to major cities in the country from Surat airport.
The inter-city flights of DCL were initially scheduled for launch by April-end, but the DGCA has not accepted the lease agreement of the aircraft.
