Raipur: The construction work of the new terminal building of the Mana Airport is going on in full swing. Almost half of the sprawling new lounge is complete and the officials say that the work will be completed by the end of this year.
The terminal being built at a whopping cost of Rs 143 crore will have all the state-of-the-art facilities. The work of the new terminal building was to be completed by December 2010, however, it was delayed due various reasons.
Though the Airport Authority of India (AAI) officials have not set a new deadline for the completion of the project, the work is likely to be completed by December 2011.
The terminal’s main building is complete and landscaping work inside the premises the terminal is nearing completion.
The entrance gate of the new terminal is twice the length of the old one. The work on the new waiting hall is almost complete. The swanky new waiting lounge will provide passengers a clear view of aircrafts taking off and arriving on the tarmac.
