Tata Steel has reportedly submitted a proposal to civil aviation ministry to build a greenfield airport in Jamshedpur. As per reports, the company has applied to the civil aviation ministry for obtaining site clearance. Tata steel has also submitted a detailed project report (DPR) for the new greenfield airport. As per the proposal, the new airport will replace the existing smaller airport. Larsen & Toubro has reportedly carried out technical feasibility study for the new airport.
India's largest commercial bank by branch network State Bank of India (SBI) will declare its January-March 2011 quarter results today, 17 May 2011. Meanwhile, State Bank of India will reportedly have to defer its fund-raising as a cash-starved government -- its majority shareholder -- is unable to chip in money for the bank's planned rights issue of shares.
Bajaj Finserv, Bajaj Finance, Opto Circuits, Sanwaria Agro, V-Guard Industries, H T Media and Prestige Estates, among others, will also declare their January-March 2011 quarter results today, 17 May 2011.
JSW Steel's board of directors have approved augmenting crude steel capacity to 12 million tones per annum (mtpa) from current 10 mtpa at Vijayanagar Works for an estimated cost of Rs. 2695 crore. The projects are expected to be completed by 30 June 2013.
