What's in a name? Officials seem to agree

Patna: The city's airport was named after the revered Jayaprakash Narayan in December 1996, but his name has been spelt as 'Jaiprakash Narayan' at all points. This is despite the fact that JP all along spelt his name as "Jayaprakash Narayan', right from the days when he wrote a poem, "A Dreary Routine", while he was at the University of Wisconsin in the US in 1927-28.
The Airports Authority of India (AAI) had renamed the city airport after the then CM, Lalu Prasad Yadav, had requested the then civil aviation minister, C M Ibrahim, to this effect. H D Deve Gowda, the then PM, had approved the proposal. It is surprising that the misspelt name was not noticed and corrected at the various official levels.
AAI website (http://www.aai.aero) shows Patna airport's name as "Jaiprakash Narayan International Airport." In what could have been an embarrassment to the veteran leader, every correspondence from the city's airport carries JP's misspelt name.
