Bangalore, known as the Silicon Valley of India due to its role as the country's leading IT exporter, will be the second Indian city served by the privately-owned Thai carrier.
The inauguration will be the second prong in Bangkok Airways' foray into the Indian subcontinent after starting its Mumbai service on March 2.
Looming large on its radar screen is Chennai, with Delhi eventually planned as India becomes more of a priority market in the airline's growth strategy formulated late last year.
On March 27, the carrier also started service between Bangkok and Dhaka, with seven flights a week to the Bangladeshi capital on Airbus A319 and A320 jetliners.
Puttipong Prasarttong-Osoth, the president of Bangkok Airways, said with the rights and time slots recently secured from the Indian authorities, the Bangalore flights will start on September 26 using A319s, a twin-engine narrow-body jet with 138 seats in only one class, economy.
