Chandigarh: As city's airport prepares to have international flights, Airports Authority of India (AAI) has realized that accommodation for travellers is limited in the area surrounding it. So now it will also provide dormitories at the airport's new terminal itself.
As the land surrounding the airport is under control of Indo-Tibetan Border Police and Union defence ministry, there is no presence of the hospitality industry near it. Most of city's hotels are about 12km from there.
AAI officials said there would be around 10 beds at the local airport, which would be available to passengers on first-come-first-serve basis.
