Trespassing case: Intruder had escaped from custody

Aluva: In a new turn to the case relating to the trespassing of a 30-year-old man into the Kochi International Airport, investigations have revealed that he had escaped from custody before sneaking into the air-side area, police said today.
Top police officers found that the man, identified as Vipin, reportedly hailing from West Bengal, had been taken into custody on Tuesday midnight after he was found moving about suspiciously at Nedumbassery and had escaped from the police station within 15 minutes before trespassing into the airport near there, they said.
Two police personnel, including an assistant sub-inspector, have been transferred for dereliction of duty in connection with the incident, police said.
The Nedumbassery Police had allegedly tried to suppress the fact that he had escaped from the police station before intruding into the airport, police said.
