CBI registers case against AI ex-GM

Mumbai: CBI has registered a case against Anil Kumar Sharma, former Air India general manager, In Flight Service Department and Eros International Media Ltd for allegedly cheating Air India of Rs 1.4 crore in supply of short video programmes to the air craft operated by Air India.
Air India had appointed Eros Multimedia to supply short video programmes for screening in its flights. Eros fraudulently charged Air India for a duration that is much more than the programme actually supplied.
The company charged Air India Ltd for the programmes which had already been billed, CBI said. Sharma fraudulently approved the bills without verifying them, in connivance with Eros officials.
