Air India staff morale, financial health top priority: New chief

New Delhi: The newly appointed Air India chairman-cum-managing director (CMD) Rohit Nandan Friday said his top priorities were to boost employee morale and the financial health of the ailing airline.
"The two challenges ahead are the employee morale and the financial health of Air India," Nandan said soon after receiving his appointment letter.
"I want to work towards building a healthy organisation and understanding at all levels," he said, adding that he will closely work with all employees.
Nandan is a 1982 batch officer of the Indian Administrative Service from the Uttar Pradesh cadre. He has been serving in the civil aviation ministry as joint secretary since December 2009, which was his first posting outside his parent cadre.
He said that although there were challenges in the task entrusted to him, it was nevertheless a privilege to be associated with the country's flag carrier.
