Finally, Aerobridge-1 to open at Nagpur airport today

Nagpur: On Monday morning, passengers travelling by Indigo's Pune-Nagpur flight, which arrives at Nagpur airport at 7am, will be the first batch of passengers to disembark using one of the two aerobridges. After innumerable delays over the last few years, finally Mihan India Limited (MIL), the company operating Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar International Airport, will start using at least one of the two aerobridges on September 12.
Most airlines operating flights from here have expressed reluctance to pay Rs 2,750 per flight as charges for the aerobridge and pushback tractor.
Both aerobridges have been ready for months, but have not been pressed into service, despite the airport authorities having promised to install them five years ago. On Monday too, only Aerobridge No. 1, will be commissioned and start operations, while aerobridge No. 2 will start operations after the recarpeting of tarmac and taxiway, sources at the airport informed.
