Air India conducts airbus trial run

Vijayawada: Air India conducted a trial run in Gannavaram airport on Thursday to operate it’s Airbus 319 with 112 seating capacity from Vijayawada to Delhi via Hyderabad from October 30.
It may be noted that after expanding the runway of the Gannavaram airport from 6,000 feet to 7,5000 feet, the facility for landing wide bodied flights with 120 seating capacity was provided. With the introduction of new facility, several airways are coming forward to operate their service from the trade capital Vijayawada.
As part of it, Air India has decided to operate the service from Vijayawada-Hyderabad-Delhi direct flight and conducted a trial run, according airport director C Pattabhi. Meanwhile, the Jet Airways which has been operating flight from Vijayawada-Hyderabad is now planning to introduce a flight to Mumbai. In response to a letter written by Andhra Chamber of Commerce and Industry seeking direct flight to Mumbai, the Jet Airways senior general manager (planning) Anthony D’Sa announced they will introduce a flight from Vijayawada to Mumbai via Hyderabad from Oct 30.
The flight will depart from Vijaywada at 15.45 hrs and reach Hyderabad at 16.45 hrs and leave Hyderabad at 1805 hrs and land at Mumbai at 1930 hrs.
In return direction, the flight will leave Mumbai at 04.10 hrs and reach Hyderabad at 05.25 hrs, leave Hyderabad at 07.05 hrs and reach Vijayawada at 08.05 hrs.
