Air India pilot dispute leads to delayed Dubai flight

Air India was forced to postpone a Dubai-bound flight on Saturday, following a dispute between the captain and co-pilot, it has been reported.
Around 170 passengers were delayed at Calicut airport for more than one-and-a-half hours after co-pilot Adarsh Kumar refused to fly with captain Sandeep Marwaha, according to Hindustan Times.
In response, Air India managed to locate a first officer, who was staying at a nearby hotel and replaced Kumar, allowing the flight to depart at 11.40am, instead of the scheduled time of 10am.
Kumar apparently confirmed his refusal was due to instructions by the Indian Commercial Pilots Association (ICPA) asking its members not to fly with Marwaha, who was officer on special duty to Arvind Jadhav, the former chairman and managing director of Air India sacked in August 2011.
