Jaisalmer to have its own airport

Jaisalmer: There is good news for tourists coming to Jaisalmer. The civil airport will be ready by this December and there are chances of starting air service from here by the next season.
The construction of civil airport at Jaisalmeri Shilp Kala on Khuhadi route, 8 km from the Jaisalmer district headquarters, is in the final stages. The airport is being built on 24 hectares of land with a cost of Rs 60 crore.
Airports Authority of India's joint general manager, civil engineering, Narendra Makhija said, "The construction work of civil airport will finish by December. The runway of the airport will be used by the air force, too. The building of airport is under construction while the parking area has been built already. We have also deposited the money for power supply."
