Now, passengers fleeced between IGI terminals

New Delhi: Indira Gandhi International Airport is witnessing a rise on rogue cab drivers yet again, albeit in a discreet manner.
After the IGI police arrested 27 people and lodged 21 FIRs for touting either at the T-3 terminal or at the domestic terminal and stopped autorickshaw drivers from overcharging, a section of taxi and auto drivers are now fleecing passengers who want to move from one terminal to the other.
A source at the IGI Airport confirmed that several verbal complaints in this regard have been received by the police.
A few taxi drivers have themselves informed the police about the malpractice, the source added. The IGI police have approached the DCP (traffic-south) requesting him to act against touts after confirming the ground realities, a senior police officer said.
"We have approached the traffic police and asked them to send us a report on touts operating from the airport," said a police officer posted with the operations cell.
