Rape accused held at Delhi airport

Nagpur: The 65-year-old real estate agent, booked last week for raping and later marrying the minor, was held at New Delhi's Indira Gandhi International Airport on Saturday afternoon. He also has various sections of the Child Marriage Act of 1929 slapped against him. Cops from the Sadar police station were already looking for him after the offences got registered.
Haji Bashir Ashrafi who allegedly has six wives was trying to sneak out of the country before finally being intercepted. He was learnt to be planning for a Haj pilgrimage. A look out search notice was already issued on his name alerting the airport security across the state. Offences of threatening were registered against Ashrafi at Tehsil police station too.
Victim Aatisha (name changed) worked at the residence of Ashrafi as a domestic help. She is now adopted by Nasreen, Ashrafi's daughter from first wife Jamila, who encouraged the minor to approach the police.
It is reported that Jamila tipped the cops about Ashrafi's plans to embark on a Haj pilgrimage to Mecca and Madina.
